Wosera, New Guinea lintel, complete and intact. Wosera people, Middle Sepik Region. Decorated in polychrome red, yellow, white and black traditional paints. Line of eleven clan ancestor depictions in high relief, bluntly carved, painted and repainted, lastly with Dutch blue trade powder and paint. Collected in 1960's by Paulian Missionary Society. Circa 1930's. An architectural piece of considerable scale.
