We have seen many Anasazi sandles, but none more interesting.Woven from yucca, and of refined design, this one, like all such pieces owes its survival to dry conditions of the American Southwest. But this one has not only survived the usual elements, but a prehistoric fire. Charred, but still intact and recognizable in its many details, including its elegant toe thong, Circa 1000 AD or before. From a collection formed in 1890.
