Stool, Grasslands, Cameroon. Well worn and exemplary example of woman's prestige stool. Beautiful, minimalistic decoration, fine line incisings, excellent patination. Good condition, large age crack one side, stable. This stool is illustrated, page 45, no. 56 in exhibition catalogue Centre Saidye Bronfman, Montreal, Quebec, exhibit held January 10-February 14, 1985, "Man at Rest" ("l'Homme Au Repos"). Stool obtained from the personal collection of guest curator, and author of landmark catalogue and exhibit.
