Phallic shaped drinking and ceremonial vessel fashioned from a gourd. It is intact and undamaged, with all its original rattan weaving in place. Old field collection numbers are on one side.
This is a piece with considerable age, likely dating to the early 20th century, circa 1900-1920, an indispensable part of the Naga headhunter's pack. Good patina on its surface with glossy highlights. Well represented in scholarly literature regarding early Naga culture. Intact, old examples in this sort of condition are rare. $500
