A diminutive and very unusual Japanese Abacus. Five rows, each with six hand crafted bone discs on bronze rods. A heavy bronze frame of rectangular shape, with a loop to fasten to the waist. The old beads are darkened with patination of use. Meiji Period / 19th Century. The only one of its size and type we have seen.
