A Dan, Liberia bronze anklet, made by lost wax casting, worn by a man’s head wife to demonstrate her wealth and status. Large, elegant raised knobbed decorative edge, with considerable wear at outer center, with a hole on the center underside where the piece struck the ground while the piece was worn. The crack seen at the opening is typical on these old pieces. There is also a smith hole from removal. Field collected prior to 1950. A piece with enormous presence and age. Circa pre 19th century AD, likely much earlier. A very rare piece.
