Knobbed French Handaxe
Further evidence that our distant ancestors were capable of considerable invention and ingenuity. Centered knob on cortical handaxe base, the knob serving as a handle. The outer, cutting edges remain sharp. Late Acheulian Period, Maritime Seine, France. Circa 250,000 BC.On custom museum stand.
