A very old Congo currency piece, with large copper content, and open horseshoe shape. This piece is partitioned into five ridges, and has extensive notching and engraving. The two terminals are raised, and shaped in squares, again divided into small raised platforms. Weathered surface with verdigris. A master work. Circa pre-18th century.
